PyCon Ghana 2025 will be held in Accra, Ghana as a live, in-person event from September 2025. We anticipate over 250+ attendees from across Africa and beyond. Your health and safety remain our top priority.
Our Commitment
PyCon Ghana adheres to guidelines from:
- World Health Organization (WHO)
- Ghana Health Service
- Ministry of Health Ghana
- Local and international health authorities
We will adjust protocols as needed and communicate updates via our website and email.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTENDEES
1. Vaccination
- All attendees must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (WHO/Ghana-approved vaccines).
- Non-Ghanaian attendees must present vaccination proof at badge pickup.
2. Testing
- International travelers: Negative PCR test (<48 hours before departure) required for entry into Ghana.
- Post-arrival testing: May be required based on prevailing guidelines.
3. Mask Policy
- Masks are required in all conference halls and crowded spaces (subject to change based on local guidelines).
4. Social Distancing
- Spaced seating in sessions and workshops.
- Capacity limits in high-traffic areas.
TRAVEL & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Visas
- Visa-free entry for ECOWAS citizens (e.g., Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire).
- Others: Apply via a Ghanaian embassy. Check requirements here.
Health Documentation
- Mandatory: Yellow fever vaccination certificate.
- Recommended: Polio, Hepatitis A, and malaria prophylaxis.
Airport Arrival
- Kotoka International Airport (ACC) is the primary entry point.
- Taxis, Uber/Bolt, and hotel shuttles available.

Healthy Habits
- Hand sanitizing stations throughout the venue.
- Pre-packaged food options and spaced catering areas.
Malaria Precautions
- Accra is a malaria-risk zone. Use repellents, wear long sleeves at night, and consult a doctor for prophylaxis.
ENFORCEMENT
- 3-strike rule: Violations (e.g., no mask, ignoring distancing) may result in removal.
- False vaccination claims = denied entry.
